   personality         having endured some unconventional circumstances in her life, kitt does not navigate life the same way another would. the trauma endured has clouded her view of the world, leading the fox to hide behind a mask of sorts in terms of her personality. kitt exhibits traits that coinside with manipulation tactics, including: gaslighting, lying and persuasion. she refuses to open herself up to others emotionally, and doesn't let her true feelings show often. quick witted and charismatic, kitt is not afraid to use her charm to her advantage to get what she wants out of those who could provide her necessities.if you can scratch beneath her hard-edged surface, you'd find her to be quite sensitive. her tactics of bouncing from person to person are due to her fears of abandonment and abuse, as well as hesitance in opening up to another being emotionally. being a zorua by nature, her deception is more or less expected, but she uses her skills of transformation to switch fluidly in identities that will better suite whoever she is interacting with. this deception is not just because of her nature, but also added in that she will seldomly reveal her true self to the average person she interacts with.kitt for the most part has a "human" persona and identity known as freya. it's a form she undertakes when it is convenient for her, and when she needs to interact with the human world. unless in the wild, you would most likely encounter kitt as freya. her alter-ego is a bit more well composed, and generally very kind and silly. a more sensitive side of her is let out through freya, but there is a question of how genuine she's being with it. kitt's biggest downfall in her human persona is that she lacks street smarts on how the human world works, but is able to play it off as being a ditz.

   appearance         as a zorua, kitt's appearance is rather disheveled. she has long dark-brown, nearly black hair that cascades at her hips with cyan highlights and undertones. while she tries to maintain her hair as a pokémon, it's more often rather than not that it's pretty messy. her zorua form is only ever well put together if done so by a trainer. kitt's ears are more pointed and sharp, mimicking a fox's, and her tail is fluffy, but more akin to a dog's tail with its shortness. her eyes are a golden amber, that reflect light in specks. her attires typically consist of whatever she can get her hands on or steal, seeing as she's not considered a trained pokémon and lacks a consistent trainer. with unova's diverse climate, she'll adapt to whatever fits best, but isn't afraid to show some skin.   ( she actually prefers it. )her appearance for freya is much more put together. seeing as it is the form most people encounter her as, she puts more effort into how she is presented. her black hair is usually tied up with pins, and the attires she transforms into are typically pretty dressy, but simple. she adapts freely to the climate, but maintains a well put-together air around her. her human form lacks her animalistic features, including the whisker marks on her face and her fangs. the average person "freya" encounters would not realize on a physical level that she is a pokémon.

   background         in lostlorn forest, a peculiar cyan-blue zorua is born. curious of the world outside her safe haven, she ventures out early in her life to satiate her wonder. disguising herself as a young purrloin, the zorua finds great fun in playing with the liepard that make home outside lostlorn forest. from a distance, she would watch humans who would pass by the street, ever interested in the shiny lights and thrills of excitement that would come from the western side. one particular day, she ventures too close to the road and is noticed by an older couple, who were excited to find a purrloin. the older couple end up capturing her into a pokéball, with the intentions of giving her as a gift to their grandson, a newly-turned eight year old boy named sebastian.
being brought into nimbasa city, the assumed purrloin is given as a birthday gift to sebastian. delighted to receive his first pokémon, the child affectionately names her “kitt” as a shortened form of kitten. nervous about revealing her deception, kitt keeps up the charade of being a purrloin to the family, able keep her secret well by sharing purrloin’s typing. she ends up catching onto the fact that sebastian is a rather frail child, often times ending up sick with her curled at his side in bed. a year into being with the family, kitt finally reveals herself to sebastian as a zorua, who immediately accepts her and promises to help keep her secret despite his excitement. their bond grows tight, with kitt becoming rather protective of sebastian as he grows up, and keeping an ever careful eye on his health.shortly after his thirteenth birthday, sebastian begins to badger his parents to let him embark on unova’s gym challenge. reluctant, they finally agree after sebastian convinces them that kitt will keep him safe from harm. taking their time, sebastian and kitt very slowly tackle each gym one by one, focusing hard on building a team and strategizing their next moves. all the while, kitt continues to act as a purrloin, even “evolving” midway through their attempt to a liepard to keep up the rouse. after a long four years of journeying, the two of them celebrate their win at driftveil city, conquering clay’s gym and earning sebastian’s fifth badge.taking a stop on route six to relax before their continuation to mistralton city. while sebastian is coming up with a game plan for combatting chargestone cave, a group of assumed thugs attack the two of them. the two attackers reveal themselves to be working for team plasma, an underground organization on the rise to help “liberate” pokémon from their trainers. after they demand that sebastian give up kitt to “liberate” her, he forcibly declines, and the encounter escalates to a fight. inexperienced, sebastian charges at one, and in the tussle, he’s hit over the head by the other attacker which kills him instantly from the bluntforce trauma. kitt is left to watch in dismay as her trainer collapses to the ground, lifeless. panicked, the two grunts quickly grab her and his remaining pokéballs and make a run for it, having not intended to do any physical harm.distressed and shaking from her grief, kitt eventually lets her disguise slip while being ran to the plasma base. as the grunts turn in kitt and the pokéballs they stole, one of the higher ups notice kitt’s species and immediately alerts their leader. ghetsis, having been eyeing the zorua species for quite some time, swiftly instructs she go into the care of one of the seven sages, rood. with ghetsis’ adopted son harboring a zorua, the leader had been unable to divulge further into the pokémon’s capabilities without upsetting n. aware of their ability to transform and disguise themselves, ghetsis tasked rood with the assignment of pushing kitt to her limit to train up a warfare asset for infiltration. disgruntled by the task, rood assigns his right hand man, roux to take over this new assignment.exhaustion from the trauma had knocked out kitt clean, until she reawoke in a cage. looking up, she could see roux towering over her, who had been awaiting her return to conscious. the man concisely explains his business with her, and informs her that starting that day, she’d be required to train with him to master the art of her transformations, as well as learn human speech. the fox begins to grow anxious by his intimidation, panic settling in as she hastily examined her surroundings. seeing her confusion by the laboratory they were in, roux informs her that they are on a island off the coast of southeast unova, but refuses to elaborate further. his final act before departing for the day is assigning kitt a new name to call her, deciding on “vix” for ease of communication within the project.roux does not return for quite some days, giving vix the time to adjust to the new nightmare that is her life. a shabby research assistant appears frequently, giving her food and water at least daily. finally, roux returns, and doesn’t waste any time in getting her started on training. his training methods are strict, often resorting to violence if she were to slip up. for days at a time, he’d stay at the research lab to maximize training time, sometimes even sacrificing his own sleep. weeks go by with roux appearing for a few days to progress her skills, then departing for an extended amount of time to take care of business. (and possibly to allow both of their sanities to recover.)while roux’s methods were aggressive, the progress vix makes in time combined with him relenting to the task makes him soften ever so slightly with each passing day. realizing she was receptive to positive reinforcement, he begins to incorporate some nicety in her training. however, he would crack the whip on enough occasion to keep vix in line and not expect pleasantries from him every time. about a year into her capture, vix attempted to escape, only making it as far as the coastline of the island the laboratory was located before getting caught by the research assistant. roux appeared a day after, furious that she had attempted to leave, and lashed out as a punishment. battered and bruised, vix spent the following week in shambles that escape was far from reach, and that her attempt didn’t even give her insight on where she was being held captive.days turned into weeks, and weeks to months. months then formed into years, in which roux had successfully broken vix down to accept her fate. as the time passed, and her transformations excelled, and her time spent as a feral zorua became less and less. in the beginning, her human disguises always included her tail, which would revert her back to a zorua if touched. eventually, vix became competent in transforming without the visible weakness, yet she can still be caught in her deception if the small of her back is touched, right above where a tail would be. slowly, she became able to converse in human speech with roux, and was instructed to practice with the research assistant who oversaw her needs when roux was away.five years into her captivity, roux swings by for what vix assumed to be another training session, but instead he informs her that they will be vacating the laboratory soon. with plans starting to make motion, ghetsis had required that the laboratory they’ve been stationed at be repurposed for a new research project: a mythical paleozoic pokémon. after getting preparations in order, roux takes vix to castelia city, where he leases a small apartment for the two of them for the time being. having associated roux with primarily negative connotations, vix is very reserved at first living with him. at first, she kept to her own room, rarely coming out to interact with roux unless demanded that she do so. however, over time she begins to expand herself to the rest of the apartment out of necessity.with the research assistant staying at the laboratory combined with plasma’s underground base being in castelia and them laying low to finalize plans, roux becomes more involved with vix during this time. at this point, vix has nearly mastered the art of her disguises, as well as human speech, and is more often than not seen as a human. the two of them are able to freely converse in the common unovan language, making vix’s training practices fewer and far between. living with the man gives her a huge a glimpse into who roux actually is outside of his work with plasma, and unbeknownst entirely to herself, she begins to grow an unusual understanding of him that slowly develops into slight affection.for a little over two years, vix lived with roux in castelia, in which her time as a captive felt… almost like it could’ve been voluntary. occasionally, roux would let out the monster she met him as, and some of her nights were still spent in fear. however, for the most part, it was the closest vix ever experienced to living a “normal human life”. roux often introduced vix as a significant other for any events he brought her along to in which they’d hide their identities. though most of her time was spent holed up in the apartment, if she was on good enough behavior, he’d take her out to the city. despite knowing how to converse, roux often instructed her to stay completely silent, or to speak only if spoken to. the domestic lifestyle made their dynamic take a strange turn, but everything changed when ghetsis finally announced it was time to enact his grand plan.shortly after ghetsis appeared at team plasma’s first official rally, the leader organizes a meeting in the castelia hideout with all seven sages and their high-ranking subordinates. vix is told to attend with roux, disguised as a normal grunt during. the meeting gets forcibly ended by an interruption of some young trainers, and rood escorts himself out to avoid conflict. with rood and roux at the front of their formation, vix has two grunts walking beside her while the leading pair discuss their next moves. when rood makes mention of plasma targeting driftveil city, vix is alerted to the name, a cold shiver running down her. the words cause her to stop her pace, and when the group doesn’t notice her immediate absence, she transforms into a small purrloin to swiftly make a quiet getaway.after running into an alleyway safe from view, she hears the exclaims from a grunt who points out her missing. hearing roux aggressively curse her name, she resumes her escape, determined to get away. having known use of the underground subway, she shifts into another disguise, one that clashed with the image she held around roux and more aligned with her zorua colors. sneaking onto the subway, she collapsed into a seat where she began to mentally process what she had done. after passing undella town, the runaway had successfully come up with a plan to exit at the next stop under a new identity: freya.

exiting the subway at lacunosa, freya was greeted with a quiet town with walls built up around it. the population seemed rather tiny, a drastic change from the bustling nature of castelia. an older woman quickly noticed her arrival, commenting on how lacunosa so seldomly receives visitors, and even rarer that they’d appear so distraught. surprised at the old woman’s intuition, freya informs her that she was planning to move here. the woman introduces herself as eden, and offers for freya to stay with her and work at her shop to cover living fees. surprised by the generosity, and perhaps too naive for her own good, freya accepts her offer and is taken to a quaint building with a sign that says “munna’s mirror”.as freya settles in, eden begins to explain the story of lacunosa. her story was more of a warning than just a simple retelling, as freya learns of the curfews the town enforces and the threat of a legendary dragon: kyurem. settling into the quiet pace of lacunosa, freya finds comfort in the peace finally gifted to her. she spends her days learning the ways of tarot and astrology with eden, while helping run munna’s mirror as a shopkeep. over time, freya begins to feel more confident in being a diviner like eden, and occasionally does her own readings. eden never seems to push freya on her past or even her identity, going as far as turning a completely blind eye on anything out of the ordinary. suspicious at first, freya soon comes to learn that lacunosa itself is full of mysterious people, and that eden’s intuition is what guides her path.freya’s time in lacunosa proves that her idea of a “normal human life” with roux in castelia was anything but. the kindness she’s shown by eden and other neighbors alike feels incongruous to everything she had known prior. after overcoming her hesitance in living with another person, freya begins to slowly understand that how roux treated her was unacceptable. though she rarely ever confided in eden on her emotions or her traumatic history, eden was no stranger to the fact freya would end some nights in tears. ever so slowly, freya found herself recovering. healing, even. it was one night where she was wide awake, staring up at her ceiling, that she wondered if this peace would last forever. if she’d get to spend the rest of her days reading cards of the divine and polishing crystals all day with eden.freya’s thoughts always halted when she’d remember that plasma was making moves. every so often, news would come up about their latest endeavours, and sometimes, albeit rarely, roux would even be on screen. it wasn’t until the announcement of ghetsis’ defeat that freya let herself dissolve into the comfort of lacunosa. though roux was still somewhere out there, freya felt confident enough that he might’ve given up on finding her again. at least that was the thought she was always comforted herself with.a couple years pass, and freya had become a rather established diviner to the pride of her mentor. eden often would joke darkly about how freya would take over the shop after she passed, to which freya would scoff and tell her elder to not be so bold about death. their days of peace met a forceful end one day, when the threat of a freeze was given notice to the town. news reports detailed that team plasma had been the culprits, indicting ice to freeze over opelucid, the neighboring city to lacunosa. beginning to show visible anxiety, eden urges freya to leave and find safety elsewhere, somehow knowing that she might be in danger if she lingered. despite her panic, freya refused to leave eden in the emergency, but was told off by eden to leave when a giant roar erupted from the chasm outside town. freya promises to return to eden once its safe for her to return, and refuses to say goodbye outright.with the town in a panic over kyurem’s resurrection, freya made an escape, planning on traveling down to undella town before the crisis unfolded. barely having step foot onto route thirteen, the diviner is met face to face with the monster she had been hiding from. having been stationed on the route to keep an eye on plasma’s advances, roux quickly notices something off about freya. identifying her quickly, he runs over to her, pulling her into him and methodically placing his arms around her to intimately touch the small of her back. as her disguise breaks, roux is exhilarated to know his hunch was correct.exasperated that he had finally found her, roux nearly breaks down, holding the zorua close to him and offering words of comfort that she was finally safe with him again. alarm bells rang in her head as roux offered her sweet words, words she had longed to hear once upon a time ago. finally releasing her and allowing her to take on a human appearance, roux marvels at the woman she’s learned to become, and begs her to come with him. his words almost ring too good to be true, and his voice sours a bit at her hesitance. quickly, his offer to be by his side again became a demand. powerless to his command, along with the apologies and promises of affection he’d bestow upon her, she caves to him after he tells her that no one would ever know how to love and care for her like he does. overjoyed by her agreeance, roux embraces her tightly, telling her that he’ll call for a quick getaway to a safe house in driftveil city once everything is over.the mention of driftveil city once again breaks her. memories of her original trainer, sebastian flood her mind, along with the subsequent memories of the abuse she endured at roux’s hand when she was first captured by plasma. panicked, she begins to struggle against his embrace as roux tightens his grip around her. mustering all her strength and empowering her force with the dark powers she holds, roux is effectively pushed back from her. he is only given a split second to look at her standing and offer a sly smirk in response to her sinister gaze. lashing out, claws begin to strike him, and they engage in a very one-sided battle — seeing as roux has always hidden behind pokémon to do his dirty work.the confrontation ends with roux on the ground, and the zorua on top of him. one hand his holding him by the throat to keep him in place, and the other is held up, channeling energy to deal a final blow on him. bloody and battered, roux can only offer a dark chuckle in response, mocking her for hesitating in killing him. he smugly comments on how his precious vix had finally turned into the monster he always wanted her to become, and that he was proud of her violent outburst. his words seep reason into her, as she realizes killing him would not make her feel better, it’d only prove that she became what he had been trying to train her to be. the rogue zorua drops his shirt collar, taking a beat to finalize her next move, before quickly getting up and ending her transformation to make a prompt exit.leaving him wounded, the zorua can hear that the altercation in the giant chasm had dwelled, with the dragons’ roars quieted. returning once more to lacunosa, she hardly has time to reenforce her appearance as freya before eden notices her return. with a knowing smile, the old woman picks up the zorua and returns to her home, and the adrenaline leaving her body causes her to fall asleep in eden’s arms before they even reach munna’s mirror.eden does not rouse freya from her slumber, allowing her whatever rest she requires. it isn’t until almost a day had passed that freya finally awakes, and immediately panics when she remembers the events leading up to her black out. hearing the commotion, eden knocks softly on the door to freya’s room, giving her just enough time to don the appearance eden knows her as. amused by her attempt to hide, eden reassures the girl that there’s no need to continue the charade around her, revealing that she had assumed long ago that freya was a zorua. shocked by her confession, freya’s tears immediately resume, guilt consuming her that she had lied for so long to someone who had only shown her genuine kindness.as eden comforts her, freya begins to recount everything she had been through, leading up to her entering lacunosa town. after detailing her confrontation with roux, eden’s face grows dark for a moment, before resuming her consoling. once again exhausted by her emotional outburst, freya inevitably caves to sleep once more. the last thing she hears before being fully lulled to a dream by eden’s reassuring petting is the elder diviner telling her that roux will face his karma one way or another inevitably.while freya works on healing herself once more, a few moons pass. upon waking up on what felt like a normal winter day to her, freya is greeted by a very festive eden. the old diviner affectionately scolds freya for forgetting the importance of the winter solstice, and joyfully tells her that there’s been a shift of justice in the universe. later on in the day, a news report is detailed on their television about a freak accident that happened in route six, just outside of mistralton cave. a threatened aggron had supposedly attacked in defense of a stray aron who had wandered out of the cave while engaged with a man who had not been identified at the time of him being discovered. paramedics confirmed him to be alive, but his injuries were severe enough to leave him crippled for life. in the midst of the report, confirmation on his identity was revealed. the victim was said to be roux, a former team plasma elite.after the report confirmed that roux had been detained and was due to be imprisoned for his crimes and involvement in team plasma, freya looked over to eden in disbelief. hesitantly, she asked the old diviner if she had anything to do with this outcome, remembering her promise that roux would face his karma some day. eden did not speak in response, and only offered a soft smile.“you’re safe now, dear.”
